I have developed a visual language for the Approach Series that captures moments of transition and flux: a train coming into the station, then speeding away. What is left on the track is emotion.
Although my work draws inspiration from quantum physics, my process is essentially intuitive – using subtle colors and very thin lines to mark a definition, a border. White space gives the paintings a way to breathe, as each level of surface reveals the human hand that created it.
