Jameel Linzy
The DAC Gallery presents the work of two artists, Jameel Linzy and Sonia Prado at stARTup LA 2020. We selected these two artists as a duo, keeping in mind the individual and complimentary aspects of their practice. Each of these artists has practices that engage in two-dimensional media; for different stints they each have made variations of sculpture, ceramic, and performance work. For this exhibition, we have chosen to highlight the interactive and performative aspects of these two artists work. Jameel Linzy’s hybrid ceramic instruments and Sonia Prado’s work illustrates and explores themes related to Women’s Wrestling.
Jameel and Sonia are professional artists with special needs who have been working out of ECF Art Centers' South L.A. studio. They are represented by DAC Gallery, where they regularly exhibit.
