Paintings are a journey for me rather than a destination. I embrace the experience of the creative process and the excitement as the painting emerges. Most paintings begin with pencil marks, each line and mark influences the next. I make marks with traditional and non-traditional tools, letting the materials and marks inspire my next move. I am drawn to the textures that emerge as I add layers and marks to the surface. I work to stay open to experimenting with the materials and the marks that happen in front of me. My pieces are mixed media: graphite, acrylic paint and collage along with pastels, water soluble crayons and pencils. Enjoy the beauty and excitement that I experience while I am creating.
